TOABH: Self Actualized

I seem to have fallen off the blog hop train recently. It's past time time to jump back on!

This week, Beka asks:

Assuming that your horse has absolutely everything he needs (food, bedding, a warm stall, plenty of blankets, and a pasture mate he neither humps, maims nor gets abused by),  what does your horse need to be the best version of himself?

Just re-using this one because it's the only one with both horses in the same shot and neither making grumpy faces at the other

Ginger:

A quiet, confident, patient, rider/handler. Also, physically, someone who can ride very independently and quietly and keep up to her. She's getting better as she matures, but she'd still do best with someone who worries less than me. She's a funny girl though. I still get a big win because I'm quiet and patient and she trusts me. She's terrified of 'loud', confident, super outgoing people. So maybe 'confident' isn't the word I need. But yeah, since she's a super mind reader it wouldn't be a bad thing if her rider was fearless - then I suspect she would be too.

Also - tons and tons of turnout and a fairly predictable routine. Change freaks her out.

If Ginger was a person, she'd be that super uptight, intelligent, hardworking person that's at the top of their field, but has a very structured routine and never ventures outside their comfort zone. Everyone likes and respects them, but there is much speculation about their mental health and when they're going to have a nervous breakdown.

Bridget:

Someone motivated and determined. She lacks any sort of ambition or work ethic. Even in the field, she's quite happy to stand there alone and watch everyone else run around and play and argue over who's boss. I'm not sure she has any horsey friends, really. If she was human, she'd be unemployed and living in her parent's basement, eating all day in front of the TV. She might have some cats or something for company. People would puzzle over her lack of a life : "But she's so cute and sweet, surely she must have interests and a busy social life" they'd say :)
